More young on the farm
01/07/2010
Another brood of Grey partridge has been seen on the farm with at least 10 chicks in, this is great news, let's hope that there will be more to follow. There seems to be at least 4 groups of young Pheasant chicks around the fields at this present time also. When the winter and spring barley is cut more should be revealed. A Brown hare was seen in the leek field in the last few days, maybe it has a young levert or two hiding away in the crops, let's wait and see. A beautiful Comma butterfly was flying around one of the hedgerows yesterday along with a Small tortoiseshell. The Kestrels are continuing to feed their young in the Owl box.
